After a long, happy career in higher education, most of it in a charming Southern town, I'm finally writing novels.

The teaching, mentoring, and community that shaped my career shaped the book, too. My debut is the first of a trilogy set in a Southern college town not unlike the ones I know by heart. It’s full of interesting people, worthy food, strong opinions, and just a touch of magic.

When I'm not writing, I'm cooking, in the garden, or wrangling five grown children and six grandchildren (going on seven) into something fun for the whole family.
